How to obtain a class 1 licence

Step 1 

• Apply for a provisional entitlement from the DVSA.

• You must be 18 and already hold a Cat B licence.


Step 2  

Candidates must pass the following...

1. Theory test & hazard perception (module 1)

2. Driver CPC case studies (module 2) 

3. Practical test (module 3)

4. Driver CPC test (module 4) - required for drivers wishing to drive commercially. 


Step 3 

• Drivers CPC qualification card (DQC) will automatically be issued after passing all four modules. 

• Once the DQC arrives, you are legally able to drive class 1 vehicles.
